A Springfield resident and former student of The Modern College of Design in Kettering, Ohio, Lailah is a mixed media artist whose work has received multiple awards, including the 2024 People’s Choice Award at the Juried Members Show and the Le Miller People’s Choice Award for her submission Lucky Sun.

Lailah’s art incorporates family members, natural objects, paper, paint, fabric, and other materials. Each piece invites viewers to explore her distinctive method of integrating sticks, fibers, and found objects into her paintings.

Her one-person show runs from Sept. 4 through Sept. 28, at the London Arts Center (121 E. First Street),with an opening reception on, Sept. 6, from 2 to 4 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Regular gallery hours are Thursday 11 a.m.–2 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.–2 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m.–2 p.m., with open studio on Tuesdays from 4–7 p.m.
